     Chris Abell is a celebrated writer/director in his native city of Toronto, armed with a degree in Film Theory and English Literature.  His passion for film making quickly had him picking up a camera and getting to work in Hollywood North’s exploding film industry.

 

      Not long after committing himself to independent shorts Abell was quick to take on features completing Abandoned Souls at 25.  Over the next few years he refined his skills producing shorts and features with colleagues contributing to the young filmmakers understanding of the craft, the crew and very importantly the business side of film.

 

      At 30 his newest union feature was titled Victims, packing a cast of some of the most recognizable faces in Canadian cinema, Abell now eager to break into the legitimate Independent Film Market with this intense psychological thriller.

 

     Writing has always been an important part of Abell’s life, his two novel saga’s Hell Cell and Reliance now primed to be published and optioned for future film and television development. Abell has written numerous drama, thriller and horror screenplays harnessing his strengths in both cinematography and editing to visually structure his worlds.
